small friend, BIG FRIEND

small friend, BIG FRIEND is a two player tabletop game about the unbalanced relationship between a small oxpecker and a big elephant. The elephant will tell stories about its life while the oxpecker bounces around the elephant's body looking for a meal. The oxpecker will tell a similar story while the elephant checks its body too see if the oxpecker is eating bugs or elephant.

The game continues back and forth until one of the players force the end of the game: either the oxpecker because it is satisfied with the relationship that has developed, or the elephant because it's suspicious that the oxpecker is eating a little too much of its body for comfort.

You check the oxpecker's current hand of three cards to determine the nature of their relationship with the elephant: are they an unwelcome parasite or a a mutually beneficial friend?

The Zine
