Melisma

Melisma is one part party game, one part roleplaying game, one part music trivia. You’ll build out a cast of characters by taking turns playing songs for the group. As the song plays, each player will interpret any part of the song that sticks out to them—the lyrics, the vibe, the chorus, etc.—into some facet of the character the group is collectively creating based on that song. 

As the song plays, players will also attempt to guess the song’s title and artist. If they’re correct about both, the facet of the character they wrote down will ring true. If they’re wrong about the title, artist, or both, some part of their facet will be untrue.

The current version is nice & simple as it is a submission to the minimalist jam. No layout allowed!! I plan to go over the text a few more times, give it a playtest or two, then make a simple zine out of it in due time.
